Oceans of Hope

Many of you already know of this awesome organization, but in case you don’t, we’ll fill you in. Oceans of Hope offers adaptive ocean access and surfing events, held multiple times throughout the summer in New Smyrna Beach. If you’ve been wanting to get out on the beach or try something new, this is your chance.

The CORE team will be volunteering at the Saturday, July 29th event. Space is limited this year, so attendees are limited to one event. Sign up on Oceans of Hope’s website before time runs out, and if you’d like to catch some waves with the CORE team be sure to book yourself for July 29th!

CORE's Newest Neuro-Exercise Assistant

Please officially welcome Kylie to the CORE team! Kylie began as a Spring Intern and has recently joined the team as our newest Neuro-Exercise Assistant. She is currently studying to become a physical therapist at UCF and hopes to use her background and knowledge to make a positive impact on your training sessions. CORE champs- client and trainer

This month’s employee C.H.A.M.P. is Brandon! Brandon has made great strides as a Neuro-Exercise Specialist and he always keeps his clients’ goals and best interests in focus.

As this month’s C.H.A.M.P., Brandon has selected Jack as our CORE Client C.H.A.M.P.!

“Jack’s bright personality and hard work are something we all value at CORE. His laugh and big smile each session are contagious among everyone that has the opportunity of working with him. Recently Jack has made some big “steps” in the gym, 5 independent steps that is.” – Brandon

The HILDERVAT Race for the Patric Young Foundation

This summer the Patric Young Foundation is partnering with the HILDERVAT Race to open an amazing obstacle course race opportunity for adaptive athletes. Are you up for the challenge?

How Can You Support the CORE Foundation?

The CORE Foundation was founded in 2011 to provide needed financial support and education for individuals with spinal cord injury or other neurological conditions, providing them the opportunity to participate in much needed activity-based training sessions. In 2022, CORE Foundation scholarships supported over 3,000 hours of activity-based training for those challenged with paralysis.

The CORE Foundation Scholarship is funded by the generosity of individual donations, fundraisers, corporate sponsors, and philanthropic foundation grants. You can help the CORE Foundation by attending events, such as the Reindeer Run & Roll 5k, grabbing a snack at the Foundation Fuel Market, or donating directly to the CORE Foundation.
