Malerie re-joined CORE in December of 2015 as Executive Director. Malerie has seven years of experience in the field of neurorecovery and opened CORE in 2011. She graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor’s of Science in Applied Physiology and Kinesiology, specializing in Exercise Physiology, and received her Masters in Health Administration from the University of Central Florida.
Malerie’s passion is to provide excellent service to the population that CORE is dedicated to while advancing the program to stay up to date with the latest research in the field. She leads an incredible team that inspires people to become their absolute best in a positive environment filled with programs designed to maximize health and achieve recovery goals. With over 7,000 hours of hands on training with clients and involvement over the years with certification programs through Shepherd center (Locomotor Training), Kennedy Krieger Institute (Activity Based Restorative Therapy courses) and Restorative Therapies (Functional Electrical Stimulation), Malerie has a wide understanding of the field and the advanced services and training to provide the most comprehensive activity based training program.
Malerie’s goal is to make CORE the most innovative exercise and recovery facility for individuals with neurological conditions in Central Florida. She looks forward to connecting and building relationships with the clients, the community, and the professionals and organizations that share in the common goal of moving the field of neurorecovery forward.
Outside of CORE, Malerie enjoys cheering on the Florida Gators (Go Gators!), working out, and judging gymnastics competitions as she is part of the National Association of Women’s Gymnastics Judging of Florida.
Katie graduated from Wheaton College (IL) with a bachelor’s in Applied Health Science and became a Certified Personal Trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM). During her time at Wheaton, she played center field for the softball team and helped to lead the team to their first conference championship in school history. Upon graduation in 2016, she joined the CORE team as an intern and has been here ever since! She has a passion for the field of neurorecovery and loves thinking outside of the box to help her clients achieve their goals, both in the gym and in our state-of-the-art aquatic training pool. Outside of CORE, Katie enjoys playing golf and hanging out with her cat, Lucy. She adamantly states that she is “not a crazy cat lady,” although the rest of the CORE team may beg to differ.

Coming to you from Franklin College in Indiana, Matthew graduated with a bachelor’ in Health Science in 2015. Often getting mistaken for his twin brother (of whom Matthew is taller), Matthew longed to stand out and chose a career path destined for greatness. He journeyed to Florida for an internship with CORE in January of 2015, which led him to discover a passion for neurorecovery. Upon graduation, Matthew moved to Orlando to begin his career with CORE. He currently serves as the Floor Manager and Lead Neuro-Exercise Specialist with the company, as well as the Program Director for Rock Steady Boxing Orlando and the Internship Coordinator. Being the younger twin with a better job, Matthew ensures he holds all of these titles over his brothers head every chance he can get. Away from CORE, Matthew enjoys playing with his dog, cheering for the Indianapolis Colts, and making up amazing dad jokes that are sure to turn heads one way or another.
Jeremy hails from upstate New York with a bachelor’s degree in English Lit, an RYT Yoga Instructor certification, and Rock Steady Boxing coach credentials. He is an Aqua Trainer, a boxing coach for the CORE Rock Steady Boxing program, and a gym assistant. Currently, Jeremy is enrolled at Seminole State College and on track to become a Physical Therapist. He has previously worked as a boxing coach for multiple organizations including the first high school girls varsity boxing program in the country.
Bianca graduated from the University of Central Florida with a bachelor’s in Health Science – Pre-Clinical. During her time at UCF, she was part of the D1 Women’s Rowing Team. Prior to graduating, she became a Certified Personal Trainer and worked at the UCF Recreation & Wellness Center for two years as a Personal Trainer and Fitness Supervisor. She’s now pursuing her life-long dream of becoming a Doctor of Physical Therapy at the University of St. Augustine. She enjoys long walks on the beach and petting puppies (she strongly encourages all her clients to bring their service dogs with them, so she can play with them). Get to know her more around the gym! Katrina graduated from the University of Central Florida with a bachelor’s in Sport and Exercise Science in 2016. Before graduating, she started working at the Conductive Education Center of Orlando (CECO), a school for children and adults with motor and cognitive disabilities. In the fall of 2017, she started attending school at Adventist Health University for a baccalaureate certificate in Conductive Education and will graduate in April 2019. She enjoys crafts, long distance running, and powerlifting.
Kaity graduated from the University of Central Florida in 2015 with her bachelor’s in Health Science – Pre-Clinical and is currently working toward an associate’s degree in Health Information Technology. She came to CORE after working in a kennel for seven years, doing every job she could there, so she’d be more than happy to babysit any service animals that come in! Kaity enjoys going to UCF football games, reading, cooking, and spending time with her two hairless cats, Lord Voldemort and Yzma, and Goldendoodle, Waldo.
Robert, an Orlando native, graduated from the University of Central Florida with a bachelor’s in Sport and Exercise Science – Human Performance Track. Growing up playing every sport within reach, he always had a passion for exercise and health. After interning in physical therapy settings, he found out about CORE and jumped at the opportunity. Becoming a Certified Personal Trainer (NASM-CPT) and completing his training at CORE in a three-month span, he officially became one of CORE’s newest trainers in October of 2018. Robert loves anything outdoors, including hiking, backpacking, fishing, kayaking, bear wrestling, surfing, etc. Voted most likely to earn 2019 CORE Trainer of the Year, when you see him, be sure to say hi to “Robert, Rob, Robster, or that guy with the socks” (just not “Bob”).
Charles (Chuck) is a soon-to-be University of Central Florida alumni with a bachelor’s degree in Sports and Exercise Science. His previous eclectic jobs have led him to the love of encouraging others to be the very best they can be and to follow a career in Physical Therapy. He enjoys the art of all music, mountain ranges, and the outdoors. Get to know Charles in the gym a little more and try to spot some of his dance moves in between sessions.
Annie moved from West Virginia to Florida in January of 2018. She lived in West Virginia her entire life but always knew that the cold weather and snow were not for her. She graduated from Concord University with a bachelor’s in Biology, and during her time there, was a member of the women’s soccer team and the women’s golf team. Recently she became a Certified Inclusive Fitness Trainer. Annie enjoys doing Crossfit, going to the beach, and cuddling with her fur-babies (two dogs and two cats). In the future, she plans to go back to school to become a Physical Therapist and one day buy a house with lots of land so that she can adopt as many dogs as possible.
Rachel, originally from Boston, MA, graduated with a bachelor’s in Sports and Exercise Science from the University of Central Florida. She is an avid Patriots fan and makes time to watch their games every week. She cannot function in the mornings without drinking a cup of hot green tea. Come to Core to hang out with her and ask her to tell you her shark bite story!
Dylan graduated from the University of Central Florida with his bachelors in Sports and Exercise Science. During the year you can find him rooting for the Knights… as well as Ohio State, the Cavs, and the Cleveland Browns since he is an Ohio native. He loves to travel and enjoys spending time with his friends and family. He likes his coffee black, his pizza cold, and his music loud.
Nicole graduated from the University of Central Florida with a bachelor’s in Sport and Exercise Science. She started at CORE in August 2016 and since then has become a trainer. She spends her free time hanging out with her kitten, Jaxon, and meal prepping for herself and her roommate. She enjoys going to the beach, eating Chipotle, and watching Marvel movies. Her favorite characters are Spiderman and Deadpool.
Riley started at CORE after her internship in fall 2018. She graduated from the University of Central Florida with a bachelor’s in Sports and Exercise Science. She lives off pasta, chicken, and chocolate. In her spare time, you can find her working out, hiking (even though there are no mountains), or riding her skateboard throughout Orlando. Originally from Melbourne Beach, she has been surfing since before she could walk, so hit her up for surf lessons!
Christian Perley is CORE’s media coordinator/media assistant. He manages the website, creates promo videos, and manages CORE’s YouTube channel. Christian currently attends Palm Beach Atlantic University, majoring in Organizational Leadership and minoring in Psychology. He hopes to become an entrepreneur. In addition, Christian also entertains and encourages the employees and clients with his witty banter. In his spare time, he enjoys listening to music and tries to go to as many shows as possible.
