Take Your Workout to the Water

Oceans of Hope is a local nonprofit that offers adaptive ocean access for persons with limited mobility. This includes specialized beach wheelchairs or assistance to enter the sand, customized surf boards and kayaks to empower paraplegics and quadriplegics to safely ride the waves or experience kayaking.

Our clients, Melissa V. and Kenny M., recently joined Oceans of Hope for a fun day of kayaking out around New Smyrna. “Any time I can get out on the water, it’s a good day,” said Kenny. “Kayaking really challenges your core stability. Just like life, as long as you keep moving forward it is easy to balance.”

The next kayak event is May 8.

May is Stroke Awareness Month
We salute all of our amazing Stroke Survivors and their commitment to their health and recovery. To honor their fight, please know the sign and symptoms of stroke. Every minute counts and the sooner you act, the better the chance of survival and the easier it is to prevent long-term deficits.

CORE Beyond C.H.A.M.P.

This month we’d like to recognize Dana for her willingness to step in and step up at the front desk. Her cheery personality makes our clients feel welcome from the moment they come in our doors and she has been a helpful addition to the CORE Team during an extremely busy time! Thank you, Dana!
