Christmas in July 5k Kickoff

Christmas in July is July 15th-20th! We’ll have our wheelchair wash, holiday treats, and other Christmas themed fun throughout the week to celebrate the launch of the 2024 Reindeer Run & Roll 5k and raise money for the CORE Foundation. Get in the Christmas spirit with us and mark your calendars for this year’s event, taking place Saturday, December 7th.

CORE & NeuroHope

We recently had the opportunity to host the NeuroHope team at CORE! NeuroHope is a guided exercise facility in Indianapolis, similar to CORE. This was a great way to connect and collaborate with like-minded professionals in the field as we teamed up during training sessions to learn from one another. A great experience for all! We look forward to working with them again in the future!

Cooking with CORE Nourish

The CORE Nourish team hosted their first ever cooking class and it was quite the success! Thank you to all that signed up to join us as we worked to bring awareness to adaptive cookware available, how cooking can be fun at home, and that you can still enjoy a yummy meal while living an active and healthy lifestyle. Everyone had a great time learning to make a delicious three course Italian meal from scratch. We hope to see you at the next one!

Summer Six Pack Challenge Winners

Congratulations to team Malerie & Brandon for getting their team name on the Golden Rubber Duckie trophy! And congratulations to Jacen M., our individual winner, for getting the highest score with over 1,200 points (that’s a lot of core work)!

Welcome Terrie!

Terrie is our newest Neuro-Exercise Specialist, joining the CORE Training Team with a unique background as both a strength and conditioning coach and an educator in our community. She holds both a Bachelor’s of Science from UCF and a Master’s of Education from Springfield College. She is also certified as a Strength & Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association, as well as certified in Mental Health First Aid.

Spirit Week

We’re celebrating 13 years of Moving Beyond Paralysis this year! If you’re new to the CORE family, we celebrate our anniversary for the entire week. This year, Spirit Week takes place August 5th-10th, and we’ve got lots of fun in store with our themed dress up days, some sweet treats, and of course Trainer Payback. Daily costume winners will be selected each day for top client and team member spirit. Start planning your costumes now!

Adaptive Surf Clinic

Join the CORE team for an adaptive surfing clinic on Sunday, August 11th at Hiles Beach Ramp in New Smyrna Beach from 9am-12pm. If you’ve wanted to learn to surf or even just get out on the beach, now is your chance! We’ve got a few spaces left, so stop by the front desk if you’d like to sign up.

H-Wave Rentals

BBQ Wednesdays

Each Wednesday Willie Boy’s BBQ food truck will be at CORE from 11am-2pm! Stop by and get yourself some delicious BBQ before you make your way home.

CORE C.H.A.M.P.

This month’s CORE C.H.A.M.P. is Dana! Dana is always willing to lend a helping hand, has been a great advocate for the CORE Foundation, and has so many great events in the works.

As this month’s C.H.A.M.P., Dana has selected John Michael as our CORE Client C.H.A.M.P.! JM has been a dedicated CORE client since 2016. He gives 100% in every session and continues to pursue other therapies in an effort to be his best self. Recently, he walked on the treadmill for an entire session, has been tapping into his trunk more, and has shown more upper body control and engagement.

Keep up the great work!
