Stephanie M., who has Cerebral Palsy, set a goal in December of 2013 to walk from 3rd base to home plate during a Children’s Miracle League baseball game. Stephanie worked for three months at CORE to prepare herself for the game on March 8, 2014. She kept her progress a secret from those closest to her.
Working with “Team Muniz” (CORE Trainer Paul and Assistant Luis), Steph came up with an elaborate rouse and on the day of the game told her coach she was “tired from therapy” and needed to play from her power chair. When she got to 3rd base she pretended her power chair battery died. Then, with Team Muniz, Steph rose from her power chair and did what no one ever imagined she could do.
